instructor
Andy Wrigglesworth
Tavistock, United Kingdom
Learning to dive in 2010, Andy’s passion for the underwater world soon developed into an interest in technical diving, making the move in 2015 before progressing to closed circuit rebreathers in 2019 with the Divesoft Liberty CCR. In 2021, Andy moved to Plymouth to be closer to the sea and pursue his passion for deep wreck exploration and identification. With the South West offering an extraordinary concentration of shipwrecks and some of the best diving conditions in the UK, it provides the perfect base for his diving and teaching. He regularly dives to MOD3 depths, with a particular interest in locating, exploring and helping to identify the many deep wrecks lying off the South West coast. A keen BSAC instructor since 2016, Andy has taught a wide range of diving skills and disciplines. His instructional experience includes Diving for All, working alongside military charities to support divers with differing abilities and individual requirements. Supportive and adaptable, Andy believes training should be shaped around the individual and the diving they ultimately want to undertake. His aim is to ensure students get the most from their learning experience while developing the skills, confidence and foundations to continue progressing beyond their course. As a Divesoft Liberty CCR instructor, Andy brings his experience of using the unit for demanding UK technical and wreck diving directly into his teaching. Whether a diver’s ambitions are extended-range diving, deep wreck exploration or developing their CCR skills, his focus is on producing capable, confident and self-sufficient divers prepared for the diving they want to pursue.
